Disposing of cooking oil

Cooking oil and grease should not be poured down the drain! This can cause blockages and water pollution. Your drainage system, as well as the sewage system, pumping stations, and treatment plants, can get clogged due to the grease. Put used cooking oil in a sealed plastic bottle or back in the empty cooking oil bottle. Dispose of it in a yellow container at the waste separation depot or at the Quakel Supermarket in De Kwakel or at Albert Heijn, Jos van den Berg at Amstelplein. Information about recycling grease can be found at frituurvetrecyclehet.nl (in Dutch). Enter your zip code or place of residence on the web page to find a collection point for recycling grease near you.

Borrow a cargo bike

Those who don't have transportation to bring bulky waste to the waste separation depot can borrow a cargo bike for free. Residents can self-deliver 1 cubic meter every 2 weeks at no cost to the waste separation depot. If the cargo bike is available, you can use it for up to 3 hours. You need to bring a valid identification document with you.
